Naturally, the heart of this 16mm film collection consists of a number of titles on the history of science, such as Galvani and Volta (1963), William Harvey and the Circulation of Blood (1971), Galapagos Trip – Darwin's Voyage of the Beagle (1960) and The Resurrectionists (1977) detailing the evolution and ethics of the methods of procuring cadavers for medical research. Other titles of note include director Peter Whitehead's educational foray The Perception of Life (1964); the entertaining physics lesson Frames of Reference (1960) directed by influential vérité documenarian Richard Leacock; and Women in Defense (1941), a US propaganda film about women's contributions to the war effort, narrated by Katharine Hepburn.
