Much like the Parr family themselves— unappreciated, undercover superheroes reassigned by the government into adopting nondescript, suburban lifestyles—this groundbreaking, Academy Award-winning Pixar animation deserves more than life on a small screen. Mr. Incredible is just as thrilled as we are at the prospect of getting back in the game after years behind an office desk. But the invitation to accept an exciting new mission comes with strings and supervillains attached and eventually requires back-up. In this case, it’s his wife Helen/Elastigirl, his children Dash, Violet and baby Jack-Jack, along with an assortment of entertaining sidekicks such as good friend Lucius AKA Frozone, the chic fashion designer Edna Mode, and Kari the anxious babysitter. As incredible as its characters, the film’s innovative visual style was made possible with computer-generated imagery that created, for the first time, a more convincing look to the “human” cast’s movement, clothing and hair. Join us for this milestone in animation history right before its sequel arrives in theaters this June. Rated PG.
