Tracy and the Plastics

At Cabot House Underground Theatre
$10 Special Event Tickets

This collaboration between the department of Visual and Environmental Studies, the Office for the Arts at Harvard, and Harvard Film Archive presents a live, lo-fi video-music performance by Tracy and the Plastics, an electronic art/new media punk band created and performed by lesbian feminist video artist Wynne Greenwood. A featured artist in the upcoming 2004 Whitney Biennial, Greenwood enacts the roles of all three band members: carrying the tunes as Tracy live on stage, with Nikki at the keyboards and Cola on drums. The latter pair interact with Tracy via video projection in a performance that, by placing as much importance on the prerecorded images as the live performer, results in a virtuosic critique of the inherent hierarchical dynamics of post-MTV spectacle.
