Before becoming one of the main manufacturers of the most conventional French genre cinema, Édouard Molinaro was briefly touched by the wing of modernity. In this film noir, natural settings are used in a very realistic way—this is especially so of the streets of Paris, which are, along with the cab drivers who circulate through them, the main characters of the film.
