A visiting faculty member in the Department of Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University, Lodge Kerrigan brings an original and uncompromising voice to American independent cinema. In his three completed features - Clean, Shaven (1994), Claire Dolan (1998) and Keane (2004) - Kerrigan explores the uneasy territory of human vulnerability. (A fourth feature, In God's Hands, was never completed after a crushing turn of events in which the film's negative was severely damaged.) A former student of philosophy at Columbia University, he is also an accomplished fashion photographer whose photos have appeared in various French publications. Kerrigan’s films have shown at numerous international festivals including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, New York, Telluride and New Directors/New Films at MoMA, and have been selected for preservation by the George Eastman House. He is currently developing a documentary on the plight of individuals with serious and persistent mental illness caught up in the U.S. criminal justice system and is planning to direct a remake of André Téchiné's Les Voleurs.

Damian Lewis portrays an unstable man of little means desperately searching the streets of New York for his abducted daughter. He finds some comfort via a relationship with his neighbor (Ryan) and her young daughter (Breslin) who triggers memories of his own missing child. Anchored by a tour-de-force performance from Lewis, Kerrigan’s gritty, puzzling work defies expectations with a bracing immediacy.
