Harvard graduate Andrew Bujalski has quickly established himself as one of the most important new voices of American independent cinema.  His debut feature, Funny Ha Ha, made in 2002 and released theatrically last year garnered heaps of critical praise including a selection as one of the ten best films of 2005 by the New York Times. Bujalski joins us for this special screening of his latest work, Mutual Appreciation.

The second feature film from Funny Ha Ha director Andrew Bujalski, Mutual Appreciation further explores the uncertainties of young adulthood first addressed in his film debut.  Musician Alan (Justin Rice) moves from Boston to New York with the hope of finding a drummer for his new band, but his life in a new city is complicated by conflicts of love and friendship.  The film’s humorous dialogue seems spontaneous and natural, and gives the viewers of this unconventional comedythe sense they are watching excerpts from real life.
